In 2010 The Story Of Ardi Rizal Went Viral
8 years ago Ardi Rizal was a toddler living in Sumatra, Indonesia, and is well-known all over the world for his 40 cigarette-per-day addiction. The photos of the boy smoking caused extreme outrage and the Indonesian government was forced to take a stand against children smoking.
He Was Only 2 Years When He Started Smoking
It’s disgusting to think that a parent would encourage a 2-year-old to start smoking! Ardi was given treatment for his addiction but his mother, Diane, said things were very difficult at first as people would recognise the boy and offer him yet another cigarette.
Ardi Went To Rehab and Learned To Say NO!
Ardi saw different psychiatrists and was soon telling people who offered him a smoke: “I love Kak Seto [one of his psychiatrists], he would be sad if I started smoking again and made myself ill”.
The Problem Is He Replaced Smoking With Another Addiction
After he kicked his smoking addiction he started to crave food and became addicted to it making him dangerously overweight.
His Struggles Finally Came To An End
After visiting a nutritionist, Ardi got his weight under control and learned to eat a balanced diet and is now looking and feeling much better. (shouldn’t his parents make sure he eats properly, not him?)
